Amauri A. Silva
Nationality: Brazilian
Job: Production Manager
Country: Brazil |
|
Key words : grow beyond your individual limits,
improve for the benefit of the customer, it’s up to everyone to
seize the opportunities. |
« In love with Schneider electric! » |
|
Who are you, Amauri? |
A graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Brás Cubas
University and a post-graduate in Industrial Administration, I
currently hold responsibilities in Production Management and
Industrial Logistics with Schneider Electric in Brazil. I am dynamic
and communicative, and I’m convinced that team-work helps people to
grow beyond their individual limits. My job keeps me busy from 8
a.m. to 7 p.m. and I love to spend my spare time with my three
children: they are my main hobby and my favourite team! |
|
You have a very impressive background:
indeed, on top of your initial training, you have undertaken a
Master’s Degree – Mechanical Engineering – Material at Taubaté
University. |
Yes, I think continuous training and improvement is key to
professional efficiency. What’s more, it really belongs to the
Schneider Electric culture. Since I joined, in 2002, the company has
offered me the opportunity to take a dozen or so specialization
courses, including Logistics, Lean Manufacturing and Stock
Management, which are all relevant to my activities. |
|
What is your main line of
activity? |
I’ve always been interested in industrial organization, including
maintenance planning and supply, from the time of my studies and
first professional experiences. At AmBev, as a maintenance part
global Sourcing manager, I was in charge of purchasing, seeking to
optimize acquisition cost, quality, pre- and post-sales attendance.
At Cervejaria Kaiser, besides working as a maintenance programmer, I
had the opportunity to coordinate the implementation of 16,000
maintenance material item records, accompany the SAP/R3
implementation, graduating as a reference user in some of the
modules of the material planning system. When I joined Schneider
Electric, I was hired as stock manager for raw material. |
|
How did you get to know Schneider Electric
and why did you join? |
In 2001, I was looking for a change of job, and it was
the time of the electric crisis in Brazil. At that time too,
Schneider Electric began their activities in Guararema. I chanced to
know about it and I was interested in the opportunity of working in
an electric electronic company, the size and the prestige of
Schneider Electric. I’ve not been disappointed and it’s been a
pleasure until today to work for the company: some people say I’ve
fallen in love with Schneider Electric! |
|
What do you appreciate in the
company? |
Schneider Electric is a company where objectives are
clearly set to the employees, with a strong will to improve for the
benefit of the customer. It makes it quite natural for the people to
be very focused on their objectives, and that is something I
appreciate with my teams. Also, it is a company which offers lots of
opportunities, either in terms of jobs, to show your experience, or
of training, to upgrade your knowledge. It’s up to every one to
seize them. As for me, I took part in both plant moves from
Guararema and Prime to Nações Unidas and in the implementation of IT
Management Systems. And, as I said before, I seized many
training opportunities. Schneider Electric is exactly the kind of
company I recommend to any graduate with a thirst to improve and
move on, specially if they are interested in facing professional
challenges and if they are ready to travel and move. |
