Taiping Asset Management Co., Ltd. (“Taiping Asset” or “the Company”) is a professional state-owned institution, sponsored and established by China Insurance (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (“China Insurance Group”) in September, 2006 with integrated domestic and foreign resources. The shareholders of the Company are China Insurance Group, Taiping Life Insurance Co., Ltd., Taiping Insurance Co., Ltd., China Insurance Group Assets Management Limited, and Fortis Insurance International N.V. All of these shareholders are renowned domestic and international financial and insurance institutions that have abundant experience in insurance operations and insurance asset management.
The Company has accumulated years of successful experience managing large-scale asset operations, acting as a pacesetter in the insurance industry and in all arenas of the capital market. So far, Taiping Asset has more than RMB 50 billion in entrusted assets. Its assets under management has been estimated to exceed RMB 100 billion by 2010.
